Chap. II: No rest for the wicked
I woke up pretty early the next morning. “-‘ello?” “Joe here and I want to give you a couple-a-news.”-“Hang on; it’s only 7 in the morning so I think you can wait for another few hours.”- “Vinny, I’m sending you off to Las Vegas; 75% of your expenses covered in advance.” As far as I remembered, I never enrolled myself for a lucky draw vacation package; therefore, either Joe is joeking (that’s what we call his ironic witticism) or he wants to fix a deal. – “Are you sponsoring the stakes as well?” – “No, but it’s the vinos. Meet me at my office; three hours from now.” “Vincent” – I sighed to myself – “consider yourself lucky only if they do not drag you out of the coffin to play at your own funeral.”
On my way to Scratch Box (there’s nothing lewd about it; it’s the name for Joe’s office), I though about how a remix of Mozart’s Requiem should sound. But little did I know the first step towards it is the remix of the first movement of the Brandenburg Concerto.
